Kanthal is the workhorse wire of vaping — affordable, durable and forgiving. Properly an iron-chromium-aluminium alloy, it holds its resistance almost unchanged as it heats, so vapour stays predictable from the first puff of a session to the last. That same stability is why kanthal runs in wattage or variable-voltage mode rather than temperature control, which needs nickel, titanium or stainless steel instead. Higher resistances around 1.0Ω–1.8Ω suit tight MTL draws at low wattage, sipping 50/50 e-liquid slowly and lasting well.
